21世紀是科技時代。誰掌握了科技,誰就可以引領世界。從我們每天都使用的互聯網到對國家安全至關重要的太空科技,都依賴於科技的發展。毫無疑問,未來是科技的時代。
21st century is the era of technology. Who masters the technology will become the master of the world. From what we will use every day like internet to what is crucial to the safety of the country like space satellite all rely on the technology. Not to be exaggerated, who masters the technology can dominate the world. Undoubtedly, the future generation is the era of technology.
科學為本

但科技的核心價值是什麼?就是科學。斯蒂芬·霍金清楚地指出:「科學家是知識的探索者和發現者。」所有的發明都是科學研究的成果。正如伊曼紐爾·康德所言,「科學是有組織的知識。智慧是有組織的生活。」科學是對某一特定主題進行刨根問底的研究。科學研究是有組織的、嚴謹的和認真的。它完全不同於常識,常識是從日常生活中收集整理出的資訊。在學習科學知識過程中,進行科學實驗至關重要。
But what is the core value of technology? It is science. Stephen Hawking clearly stated that “Scientists have become the bearers of the torch of discovery in our quest for knowledge.” All invention is the fruit of scientific research and study. As Immanuel Kant said, ‘Science is organized knowledge. Wisdom is organized life.’ Science is thorough research on a particular subject with concluded facts. Scientific study is organized, rigorous and serious. It is totally different from common sense which is information gathered from everyday knowledge. Conducting scientific experiment is paramount to acquiring scientific knowledge.

在香港的小學課程中,沒有單獨的科學課程。科學知識是通過常識科來教授給學生。為了加強科學知識的學習,學校安排了一門獨立的學科-科學科,鼓勵學生通過有趣實驗來學習科學。
In Hong Kong curriculum, there is not any separate subject called science. Scientific knowledge is taught through another subject called General Studies. In order to strengthen the study of scientific knowledge, the school has arranged an independent subject i.e. Science to encourage student to learn science with the help of conducting interesting and stimulating experiment.

香港的中學課程中有一門獨立的學科——綜合科學。其內容包括了生物、物理和化學等科學技術的知識,為學生打造堅實而全面的基礎。無論學生將來是否會從事科學研究,他們都會對科學有一些基本的了解。當然,我們也非常鼓勵學生進一步研究科學,為國家的科技進步作出的貢獻。
We have adopted Hong Kong curriculum which has an independent and separate subject, called science. Instead of splitting it into three subjects, i.e. Biology, Physics and Chemistry, we offer a subject called, Integrated Science, which gives students a solid and comprehensive foundation. No matter whether they will pursue their study in science or not in the future, they have some basic and fundamental understanding about science. Hopefully, students may be motivated to further their study in science and finally contribute to strengthening the technology of our country.
綜合活動
Extended Learning Activities (ELA)
除了常規課程外,學校也希望通過綜合活動激發學生對科學的興趣,故安排了一門有趣的活動課-科學小實驗。因此,學生可以在課堂內外獲得更多的科學知識。
Besides the regular curriculum, the school aims to stimulate student’s interest in science through ELA. We have arranged a funny course, i.e. Little Experiment. Hence, students can acquire more scientific knowledge inside or outside the classroom.

學習科學就像學習游泳。如果你只通過視頻了解如何去游泳,卻從不跳入水中,你就永遠學不會游泳。如果你從來不去實驗室親手做實驗,你永遠都不會了解真正的科學。
The study of science is just like learning to swim. You can never learn how to swim if you just watch video and never jump into water. You can’t develop the scientific spirit if you never go into laboratory and conduct experiment on your own.
