Cherish food, save food, is the traditional virtue of the Chinese nation. "Who knows the dish, every grain is hard-gained" is also a line from a poem that everyone knows.
At VPA, since the operation of the Shark Cafeteria, we have been implementing an important initiative - the Clean Plate Campaign. This initiative aims to encourage students to reduce food waste, carry forward the virtue of cherishing food, and make a positive contribution to environmental protection.
Every day after lunch, we always hear children proudly say, "Today I cleared my plate!"
Children don't perceive it as a forced task, but genuinely consider it a noble deed. The principals and teachers also lead everyone in applauding the students who have finished all their meals.
We have also posted various notices on the walls and placed table cards for the Clean Plate Campaign on every table, constantly promoting good eating habits.
Gradually, children will develop the habit and know about their own appetite. They will also proactively communicate with the kitchen staff when serving their meals, creating a positive loop.
Our Shark Cafeteria has been officially operating for a month now, and with teachers' scaffolding, children line up in an orderly manner and keep the area clean. The newly opened noodle bar has been very popular among students. Additionally, we deliver different pastries and fruits to the classrooms every morning and afternoon.
After finishing their meals, some children will quietly read books, while others will play games or chat with their peers, creating a very pleasant atmosphere.
Children's learning and growth occur not only inside the classrooms but also in every moment and every place. In the cafeteria, they can learn a lot about restaurant etiquette, develop good habits of being environmentally friendly and avoiding waste. They can also interact with students from other classes and grades, improving their social skills and fostering communication.
VPA will continue to provide children with safe, healthy, delicious, and diverse meals. We also integrate campus culture and traditional virtues into the dining experience, aiming to help children establish good behavioral habits from an early age.
