JPED Academy was founded in 2016,and adopts CCSS American high school curriculum,combined with the innovative teaching model project-based learning(PBL).JPED is recognized by the Cognia international certification,and has won anumber of internationl and world-class accademic competition awards.We are also recognized by the higher edecation systems of the United States,the United Kingdom,Canada,Australia,New Zealand,Sweden and other countries.
JPED Academy is student-centered and has always adhered to whole-person training with the goal of cultivating comprehensive abilities. It attaches importance to students' lifelong learning ability, and gives students higher attention and more challenges. Through an interdisciplinary teaching model, each student is provided with opportunities for individualized development, own study plans and mentor, in order to fully explore each student's own characteristics and specialties, and cultivate students' comprehensive ability as well as innovative entrepreneurial thinking. The former campus of JPED Academy in Changping is mostly built by students through project-based learning. The school is located in Anzhenmen, near where the Yuan Dynasty city wall lay on the east side of Beijing’s central axis, next to the 2022 Winter Olympics Village. 2. School Visit Appointment
Have a visit to JPED campus which full of student creativity, teachers and students' co-construction results, deeply experience the world's cutting-edge education model - project-based learning, and communicate face-to-face with JPED teachers and students to deepen mutual understanding. At the same time, you can also chat with the senior teachers and student ambassadors of JPED about future lives, discover each other's characteristics, meet interesting souls, and have a collision of ideas.

4. Student Academic Written Exam
As a school where all subject courses are taught in English, English is used as a channel of communication, listening, speaking, reading and writing skills are the basic requirements for students. The academic written test is 120 minutes long and mainly includes essay writing, English reading, and mathematics (all in English). The following are specific instructions for the entrance test.
Math:
The placement test of JPED is designed for high school prep and high school students, according to their individual math solving ability based on algebra and precalculus study. There are 20 questions in total, within 45 minutes to complete the exam. Each question is awarded five marks. The first five questions are based on Algebra I, question 5-15 on Algebra II, and the last five problems on Precalculus.
English:
The English placement test of JPED is designed for high school prep and high school students. The test will examine students' reading and writing abilities. It is divided into essay writing, with a choice between two topics, a grammar and syntax multiple-choice div, a medium-length reading (300 words), and finally a long reading (500 words).
*TOEFL scores that meet the requirements of the corresponding grade can be exempted from the written test.
5. Student interview
In order to have a more complete understanding of each applicant, we require each applicant to have a one-on-one interview with a school teacher. Applicants should actively communicate with teachers and answer questions during the interview.

Topics such as hobbies, subjects, achievements and failures, and projects or activities led and planned may be covered.
Scoring Considerations
General Language Skills, English Listening, English Speaking, Communication Skills, Creativity, Critical Thinking, General Knowledge, Leadership and Responsibility, Problem Solving, and Curiosity.
6.Parents’ Assessment
In order to understand more comprehensively whether the parents of applicants are consistent with the educational philosophy of the school, we require each applicant to have a one-on-one interview with the school teachers or explain an educational concept or philosophy in written form, so that the school can better understand the growth environment of students and implement more targeted teaching.
Important notice
*You will only have one chance to retake any form of assessment for the 2023 academic year.
*The specific assessment time and arrangements will be sent to the confirmed email one week before the assessment. Please monitor your email for the notice of confirmation.
*Students participating in the assessment should arrive early to the campus and bring with them the confirmation letter for registration. Students arriving more than fifteen minutes after the start of the test will not be allowed entry.
*Within one week after the evaluation, the School Admissions Office will send the evaluation results to the registered email address.

You will receive your admission results within three to seven working days of the admissions test.
2)Payment of the Academic Placement Deposit
Upon receipt of the admission letter, please pay 30,000 Yuan as an academic placement deposit within three working days to ensure the students placement in the2023 academic year. Late payment will be considered as a waiver of academic placement.
3)Preopening Preparations
*Prepare relevant information and pay the tuition fee according to the offer.

JPED adopts the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), and offers core courses in several categories such as STEM courses, humanities courses, art courses, Chinese courses and Physical courses, combined with scientific learning curve theory , to build an China-US combined education system, lay a solid foundation for students' general studies, and cultivate students' life-long learning concepts and abilities. At the same time, it also adopts a project-based learning system and an interdisciplinary cutting-edge teaching model. 3. What is project-based learning?
Project Based Learning (PBL), as a content-rich interdisciplinary learning approach, helps students build a framework for understanding and solving real-world problems through developmentally appropriate experimentation and exploration. Beginning by asking a meaningful question, students work through a multi-step process to solve the problem. The program requires students to use a variety of learning skills, including reading, writing, mathematics and research, logical reasoning, and other core competencies required for 21st century talent. Project-based learning promotes teamwork and encourages students to create and innovate.

In JPED, the admission guidance course covers the daily curriculum arrangement of all students, and the duration and guidance of the course arrangement are increased grade by grade according to the pressure of admission. Starting from grade 9, the college guidance will arrange individual one-to-one communication time for each student to establish learning goals for each stage of high school; starting from grade 10, college guidance will arranges individual one-to-one guidance for each family, and invites parents to participate in the student's further education planning; starting from grade 11, college guidance will provide students with customized standardized improvement guidance; starting from grade 12, college will provide guidance for each student in the use of the university application system, one-to-one writing guidance and revision for each student.
According to the American academic system, JPED Academy is divided into two admissions in spring and fall, whish is in March and September seperately each year. Both spring and fall admissions are open to apply. The fee for spring admission is charged as a percentage of the whole year's semester hours.
7. How is GPA calculated in JPED? Are academic subjects ranked?
The GPA of JPED Academy does not only calculate students' mid-term or final exam scores, but incorporates students' daily study habits, learning attitudes, and learning performance into the evaluation system for personalized and comprehensive evaluation. For example, attendance, classroom performance, teamwork, project results, homework completion, test scores, test scores are all included in the final GPA, so that students can make academic improvement every day and apply the knowledge and skills they have learned storage in the brain as long-term memory.
8. The students are currently studying in public schools, will they be unable to keep up with the English level if they transferd to JPED?
We will examine the English ability of students through the written test and interview, but the admission is based on the comprehensive strength of the students, and will not decide whether to grant admission only based on English ability. If admitted, it means that we believe that the student is competent in English, or can be integrated into the new learning environment through preparation before admission and a period of adjustment after admission. Students transferring from any school that does not teach in English will go through a period of adaptation and transition, and classroom learning in English is the best environment to help students improve their English.
9.American high school students returning to China due to the epidemic, can they be recruited? What is the admissions policy?
The Common Core State Standards (CCSS) curriculum system adopted by JPED Academy can be seamlessly connected with other American high school courses, and credits can be directly exchanged. The curriculum is similar to that of American private high schools in terms of curriculum difficulty and teaching mode. Students return from abroad do not need to adapt and can enroll normally.
10. What is the level of teachers at JPED Academy?
All foreign teachers of JPED Academy are from English-speaking countries, graduated from high-quality universities and have teaching experience abroad or in China. Every teacher who joins JPED will go through three interviews from the Human Resources Commissioner - Human Resources Director - Executive Principal.
