We are thrilled to announce the winners from the recent American Math Olympiad. Students from all over the world took part in the competition and also 23 students of ISA Tianhe participated in it. We are so proud of their excellent performance with a result that 12(52%) of them won medals. Now, we are excited to share the good news with you:
11月美国数学思维挑战赛拉开帷幕,此次竞赛规模极大,吸引了世界各地学生参赛。广州天河爱莎外籍人员子女学校23名学生以昂扬的斗志参加了此次竞赛,在激烈的角逐中脱颖而出,12名学生斩获奖牌,获奖率达52%。以下为学生获奖情况:

In order to promote students' enthusiasm and understanding of mathematics and develop students' creative thinking. Based on important mathematical concepts, The questions of AMO are set up a variety of forms to evaluate students’ mathematical skills. With their solid mathematical knowledge and flexible mathematical problem-solving ability, our students acted calmly and did well in the competition.
为了促进学生对数学的热情和更深层次的理解、发展学生的创造性思维。此次美国数学思维挑战试题以重要数学概念为基础,设置了多样的考察形式。天河爱莎学生面对错综复杂的试题,凭借其扎实的数学知识功底和灵活的数学解题能力,在赛事中沉着应对,游刃有余。
ISA Tianhe School adopts IB inquiry teaching and transdisciplinary learning mode to encourage students to develop their creative thinking and inquiry ability in daily learning, solve mathematical problems in different ways and apply math to daily life. It allows students to develop flexibility mathematical thinking and further understanding of mathematical concepts.
“千里之行,始于足下”,天河爱莎学校以IB探究式教学和跨学科学习模式鼓励学生在日常的学习中注重思考和探究,并用不同角度思考数学问题和数学在日常生活中的应用,从而培养灵活的数学思维,理解数学概念的广度和深度。

In addition, the school provides differentiated teaching and group learning for students. The extension group learning really challenges the students’ mathematical understanding and allows them to apply this understanding to challenging problems. We are fortunate to have the support of specialist bilingual math teachers who are utilized in a way that support the children’s learning by providing the language support that may be needed as well as an in-depth understanding of the processes needed for fluency in math.
除此之外,学校还通过分层式教学和小组式教学给予学生个性化的帮助和指导。同时学校还为四年级以上的班级配备双语数学专科老师。学生在双语数学专科老师的语言和深入的概念理解支持下,更好地开展小组式学习和挑战性问题的探究。
