Good morning Principal. teachers and fellow students, I am Ryan Lee from Class 1 Grade 10.
This coming Saturday is 12 March. Every year on this day, we celebrate National Tree Planting Day. It’s a day that encourages us to spread awareness about environmental conservation and advocate for a greener environment. Today, I would like to take this opportunity to share my thoughts about environmental protection with you.
Human activities over the past hundreds of years have caused adverse effects on the environment. We are responsible for many of the climate problems on earth, such as melting glaciers and global warming. It is imperative for us to take action now before our planet reaches unsustainable levels.
As we celebrate National Tree Planting Day, it is essential for all of us to realize that every individual can play a significant role in this solution, and every little deed matters when it comes to saving the environment. Here are some tips for what you can do to save our planet.
NO.1, always remember to turn off lights, air-conditioner, and other electronics, when you’re leaving the classroom,
NO.2, set your air conditioner a few degrees higher. You probably won’t notice much of a difference, but the environment will!
NO. 3, reduce water use. Turn off the water when you wash your face or brush your teeth. Take shorter showers and fewer baths. Small changes make a big difference in the long run. NO. 4, take a pledge to say ‘No’ to plastics. Instead of it, we may make use of Ecofriendly substitutes like paper and reusable bags.
NO. 5, reduce what you buy, reuse what you have. By doing so, less pollution will be created and more natural resources will be saved.
Last but not least, do plantation of trees to preserve our planet! Trees absorb carbon dioxide, and release oxygen back into the air. Do not miss the opportunity to participate in Tree Planting Day this Saturday.
No matter how small a step you are taking to live a greener life, it does make a difference. Because, if every one of us starts taking small actions to save the planet, it will turn into something big. As the saying goes every drop makes an ocean, I believe it is true in this case as well.
To sum it up, small actions can make a big difference in environmental problems. We should all remember that the gifts and graces bestowed by nature are invaluable. It is critical to protect them all for the sake of a better future and a better life for everyone.
Thank you
