Ms. Zheng has 28 years of experience in teaching and school leadership of international schools and bilingual schools. Prior to her joining FCG, Ms. Zheng was an executive board member of the renowned Y Education Network. Also, as Education Director, she was responsible for the management of eight schools in Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Qingdao. Working closely with the Western Education Director, she led, guided, and supported the Chinese and Western Co-Principals to continuously improve the quality of education and teaching at each campus. During Ms. Zheng’s eight years as the Chinese Co-Principal previously, she worked with three Western Co-Principals, providing an exemplary model of collaborative management between Chinese and Western Co-Principals. She has also made outstanding contributions to the development of school policies, curriculum development, student activities, staff training, and home-school connections.
In terms of teaching and curriculum research, Ms. Zheng not only has extensive experience in teaching Chinese IBDP. She was also among the first Master Chinese teachers and was one of the chief editors of the Chinese native and non-native language learning materials in the Y Education Network. As the former Curriculum Director of the Y Education Network, together with the Western Curriculum Director, Ms. Zheng was responsible for instructional supervision and evaluation of all the education Group schools. She was also in charge of the development and improvement of the school's curriculums, as well as establishing a communication platform for teaching and learning between the campuses.
Apart from her work experience in international and bilingual education, Ms. Zheng also has over half a decade of experience teaching in Shanghai local public schools. She worked in Shanghai Jing’an Education College Affiliated School and received numerous awards from the Shanghai Education Bureau and the Jing’an District Education Bureau for outstanding teaching and learning performance.
Ms. Zheng holds a Master’s degree in Education from East China Normal University and is committed to lifelong learning. She has participated in various international conferences to exchange up-to-date ideas and hands-on experiences with fellow educators across the world. Among the training over the years, she has particularly benefited from the training series on curriculum leadership, instructional supervision and evaluation in international schools organized by the Principal Training Centre (PTC), the annual conference of the Association of China and Mongolia International Schools (ACAMIS), and the training organized by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO).
Ms. Julie Zheng started her role on August 1st, 2022, and she is responsible for all matters of FCG as Chinese Head of College together with Expat Head of College, Mr. Jeroen Gakes.
