The National Economics Challenge (NEC) is a highly influential academic event for high school students sponsored by the American Institute for Economic Education. After 20 years of development and accumulation, more than 20,000 students are invited to participate in the event every year, and the event and the participants are widely supported and recognized by famous financial institutions on Wall Street and top universities in the United States. According to statistics, more than 60% of NEC participating students are admitted to top schools such as U.S. Ivy League schools and UK G5 schools every year.
After its introduction to China in 2016, the NEC has reached more than 20 provinces and regions and 300 schools across China.
The participating students will be evaluated through four segments: economics assessment, case analysis, economic
innovation quiz and economic super bowl. The participants' knowledge and mastery of economics fundamentals, scientific application of economics knowledge, critical
thinking, teamwork ability, and adaptability to the situation are examined respectively.
