Recently, campus life at BIS has been exceptionally exciting, with students showcasing their creativity and talents in various activities, injecting new energy and vitality into the school. Now, let's delve into the interesting details of these events and reveal the outstanding abilities of BIS students and the comprehensive development of the school!
BIS International Day
A Cultural Feast Co-created by Students, Teachers, and Parents!
- Written by Danielle -
BIS's international day was a huge success! The student performances were fantastic and our student hosts were excellent - they did a wonderful job teaching us about their home countries too. We have a very talented cohort here at BIS. Our students should be proud of themselves for their hard work and dedication. This event was a celebration of all of our different cultures and countries.
However, it would not have been possible without collaboration from different members of our BIS community. Thank you to Lia and the PTA for organising our parent booths and thank you to the parents and guardians running them, it was wonderful to learn about the different countries (and try the food!). Without you, the event wouldn't be the success that it was. We appreciate your hard work and support.
Our teachers did an amazing job at their booths - so did our Marketing and Admissions team and school support staff, as well as the teachers who organised and choreographed performances - thank you all for your hard work.
Finally, thank you to everyone who attended. We look forward to more events happening around school soon!
BIS Student Committee Launched
Empowering Students to Shape a Better Learning Environment!
- Written by Mark -
On Tuesday 21st March we launched our Student committee. 16 students from Y1 to Y10 are to represent our children on what we can do to make BIS a better place to learn and to work in.
The Student committee play a very important part of the school with its decision making and we need strong students not only as members but also leading the members. We are very happy to say that the committee is headed by Krishna Y10 as Chair and Acil Y6 as Deputy Chair.
This committee will run by students for students. I will be at every meeting but to just support the students in their discussions. I handed each of the members Council badges as well as handing to Krishna and Acil Prefect badges so all students/teachers and staff know who they are. Our next student committee meeting will be on Tuesday 25th April.
BIS Monthly Assembly
A Showcase of Student Talent
- Written by Danielle -
On Friday, the students from Years 1-10 met in multipurpose room for their monthly assembly.
We watched performances from different students. We heard some beautiful piano playing, watched some lovely dances and saw an enthusiastic karate performance. Mr. Mark also handed out the Cambridge certificates for this month.
The assembly was hosted by two students in primary. This year the students have more opportunities to perform or host and everyone is welcome. If a student would like to perform at an event they should either let their homeroom teacher or Ms. Danielle know (in advance of the event).
