A Showcase of Scientific Inquiry and Presentation Skills

For their summative assessment, the students worked towards a Science Fair that incorporated all aspects of their learning from this unit. They explored scientific objectives related to Animals Including Humans, Light, and Electricity, and applied the scientific method throughout their studies.
作为探究单元的总结性评估,学生们举办了一场科学主题探究展,囊括了本探究单元的所学到的所有知识点。作为科学探索的目标,他们调查的领域与动物、人类、光、电相关,并在过程中运用了科学方法。
Students formed groups and chose a focus from one of their areas of study, working diligently to present their background knowledge and design experiments or investigations using the scientific method.

Demonstrating Learner Profile Attributes
展现IB学习者风采
Throughout the experience, students displayed several of the IB Learner Profile Attributes. They were knowledgeable in learning more about themselves, others, and the world; inquirers who asked questions and persevered; and thinkers who used their existing knowledge and built on their own ideas and those of others.
在科学主题探究展中,学生们充分地展示了IB国际文凭学习者的特质。他们对自己、他人、世界有了更多的了解;他们是勇于提出问题并坚持不懈的探究者;他们是利用已有的知识并善于聆听他人的想法的思考者。
Additionally, the students showcased their presentation skills, adapting their material for younger and older audiences. They made their Science Fair Presentations interactive, allowing the audience to participate and observe the results themselves in the moment.

Building on the Success of PYP Exhibitions

Our Year 5 students' earlier participation in the PYP Exhibitions greatly contributed to their success in this project. They demonstrated excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills and took the initiative to conduct additional independent research. Their research skills have significantly improved, as they can now pinpoint specific information relevant to their work when faced with a large amount of information.
小学毕业成果展的经历为五年级学生开展本次的科学展提供了经验基础。他们展现出了出色的社交能力和合作技能,并独立自主地完成课程以外的探究学习。当他们面对大量的信息时,能够准确地找出与主题相关的具体信息,由此可见他们的信息处理能力和研究技能有了明显的提高。
Preparing for Secondary School & Personal Growth

As our Year 5 students approach the end of their primary school journey, we are incredibly proud of their growth and maturity. The knowledge, skills, and experience gained from this project, as well as all of the others they have participated in this year, will undoubtedly aid them in their transition to secondary school. They have developed a strong foundation in scientific inquiry, collaborative problem-solving, and effective communication, which will serve them well in their future academic endeavors.
五年级的毕业生即将结束小学旅程并迈入中学阶段,老师们对他们的成长感到无比自豪。我相信,他们在科学主题探究展和本学年参与的所有其他项目中获得的知识、技能和经验将帮助他们顺利地过渡到中学阶段的学习。他们在科学探究、团队协作、有效沟通方面打下了牢固的基础,这将对他们未来的学习或工作都将大有裨益。
We are confident that our Year 5 students will continue to excel as inquisitive, knowledgeable, and skilled learners in secondary school and beyond. Their achievements in this end-of-unit project exemplify their dedication and commitment to learning, and we cannot wait to see and hear about what they will accomplish next.
