该书是南非喜剧演员特雷弗·诺亚创作的回忆录。本书以种族隔离末期的南非为背景,记录了作者因跨种族父母结合而被法律视为“非法出生”的特殊经历,及其在后种族隔离时代动荡社会中的成长轨迹。

英语Jing老师携手 DP1 English B 的同学们,以特雷弗・诺亚的经典回忆录《生而为罪》(Born a Crime)为 “钥匙”,开启一场别开生面的历史文化探索之旅。此次互动展览,正是基于这本书搭建起的动态学习平台。通过沉浸式的学习与探索,相信他们不仅能深刻领悟书中的南非历史背景与社会动态,更能在跨文化的碰撞中,培养出珍贵的同理心与批判性思维,收获独特的成长体验!
English teacher Ms. Jing joined hands with DP1 English B students to start a unique journey of historical and cultural exploration using Trevor Noah's classic memoir Born a Crime as the “key”. This interactive exhibition is a dynamic learning platform based on this book. Through immersive learning and exploration, it is believed that they will not only be able to deeply understand the historical background and social dynamics of South Africa in the book, but also cultivate precious empathy and critical thinking in the cross-cultural collision, and gain a unique growth experience!

活动内容:探秘历史文化,赋能多元成长!
Jing老师在教学目标的设定上,活动更是独具匠心。活动里,DP1 English B 的学生们将化身历史文化的 “探索先锋”,组队协作,围绕中国、南非、英国和俄罗斯四国人民的历史与生活,打造出一个个惊艳四座的互动展览。从构思到落地,他们充分释放天马行空的创造力,将南非种族隔离制度下的社会画卷、其他国家同一时期的发展风貌,以趣味问答、场景还原、互动游戏等生动形式呈现。
当学生们深入研究历史事件,巧妙构思展览内容,不仅能深度剖析《生而为罪》(Born a Crime)中关于种族、身份、社会变迁的核心主题,更能搭建起对四国历史文化的完整认知框架。这场活动,不仅是知识的传递,更是思维的锤炼、能力的锻造,让学生们在探索中收获文化底蕴,在实践中成长为兼具国际视野与人文素养的复合型人才!
Ms. Jing's activity is even more unique in terms of the setting of teaching objectives. In the activity, DP1 English B students will be transformed into “exploring pioneers” of history and culture, teaming up and collaborating to create a stunning interactive exhibition centered on the history and lives of the people of China, South Africa, the United Kingdom and Russia. From conceptualization to landing, they fully unleashed their pie-in-the-sky creativity, presenting the social picture of South Africa under the apartheid system and the development of other countries during the same period in lively forms such as fun quizzes, scene restoration and interactive games.
When the students studied the historical events in depth and conceptualized the content of the exhibition, they were not only able to analyze the core themes of race, identity and social change in Born a Crime, but also build up a complete cognitive framework of the history and culture of the four countries. This activity is not only a transfer of knowledge, but also a refining of thinking and a forging of ability, allowing students to gain cultural heritage in exploration and grow into composite talents with international vision and humanistic qualities in practice!





活动亮点:穿越时空,解锁多元文化!
活动开始前,每位参与的学生和老师都会获得一本特别的新 “护照”。这可不是普通的护照,它将成为你穿梭历史时空的通行证!踏入活动现场,由 DP1 同学们精心打造的中国、南非、英国和俄罗斯四大主题展区映入眼帘,各具特色,仿佛将你瞬间带到不同国度。参与者需要通过趣味十足的知识问答,解锁专属自己的独特角色。
持 “护照”,以全新身份穿梭于各个展区,与 “历史人物” 对话,亲身经历各国在南非殖民时期至种族隔离制度废除期间的重大事件。在沉浸式的体验中,你不再是旁观者,而是历史的 “参与者”,不仅能深入了解不同国家的历史与文化,还能在角色扮演中锻炼自己的表达、应变能力,培养跨文化意识和同理心,收获课本之外的宝贵知识与难忘体验!
Before the event begins, each participating student and teacher will receive a special new “passport”. This is no ordinary passport; it will be your passport to travel through time and space in history! Stepping into the event site, the four thematic zones of China, South Africa, the UK and Russia, each with its own distinctive features, were carefully created by DP1 students, as if they would instantly transport you to a different country. Participants were required to unlock unique characters exclusive to themselves through fun-filled quizzes.
With a “passport”, you can travel through the zones with a new identity, talk to “historical figures” and experience first-hand the major events of each country from the colonial period to the abolition of apartheid in South Africa. In the immersive experience, you are no longer a bystander, but a “participant” in history. Not only can you gain an in-depth understanding of the history and culture of different countries, but also exercise your expression and adaptability in role-playing, cultivate cross-cultural awareness and empathy, and gain valuable knowledge and unforgettable experiences beyond the textbooks!





活动意义:打破文化边界,架起历史桥梁!
通过设计融合多元视角与经历的互动展品,DP1学生更加深刻地体会到特雷弗・诺亚回忆录中的主题与叙事魅力,在历史事件与文化遗产之间架起一座沟通的桥梁,建立起有意义的连接。另外,活动探索的旅程,更是一场突破文化边界的冒险。学生们在其中化身文化使者,跨越地域与种族的藩篱,培养出敏锐的跨文化意识。他们学会从不同文化的视角,去倾听、去理解、去感受他人的经历。
By designing interactive exhibits that incorporate multiple perspectives and experiences, DP1 students gain a deeper appreciation for the themes and narrative appeal of Trevor Noah's memoirs, bridging the gap between historical events and cultural heritage to create meaningful connections. In addition, the journey of activity exploration is an adventure that breaks through cultural boundaries. Students are transformed into cultural ambassadors in which thaey cross geographical and ethnic barriers and develop a keen cross-cultural awareness. They learn to listen, understand, and feel the experiences of others from the perspective of different cultures.

本次活动更是 IB 国际情怀理念的生动实践,践行着 IB 课程中 “尊重和理解文化差异” 的核心要求。在 IB“教育为创造更美好、更和平的世界培养年轻人” 的使命指引下,这次《生而为罪》(Born a Crime)主题互动展览活动,完美诠释了 IB 教学理念的精髓。
This event is a vivid practice of IB's concept of International Sentiment, practicing the core requirement of “respecting and understanding cultural differences” in the IB curriculum. Guided by the IB's mission of “educating young people for a better and more peaceful world”, this interactive exhibition on the theme of “Born a Crime” perfectly illustrated the essence of the IB's teaching philosophy.
