Celebrating the Year of the Horse at BSG

Today our whole school came together to welcome the Year of the Horse with joy and plenty of energy. The morning began with a lively programme of stage performances attended by students, staff, and many supportive parents.

Our student MCs set the tone with their confident presence. They moved between English and fluent Chinese with ease, sharing laughs and thoughtful messages that connected the whole audience. Many of our students took to the stage with songs and dances inspired by traditional Chinese music. The face‑changing performance became a clear favourite, and all students, even the youngest ones, watched with excitement and fascination.

The celebration continued with one of the highlights of the morning: the Year 2 dragon parade. Every Year 2 student showed impressive poise as they guided the dragon across the campus. Their teamwork, control, and strong movements brought the dragon to life. The parade drew cheers from students of all ages and made us very proud of their confidence. Well done, Year 2.

We then enjoyed a powerful Lion Dance performed by professional Chinese dancers. The steady drumbeat filled the space as the lions leapt, blinked, and swept through the crowd. Their performance carried the spirit of strength and good fortune, reminding us of the meaning behind this traditional art. The arrival of the Fortune Gods added an extra moment of excitement as they shared chocolate coins with our students as a symbol of luck for the year ahead.

As we enter the Year of the Horse, we wish every member of our BSG community good health, prosperity, and success. May the year bring positive energy, new achievements, and memorable moments for all.
