BSG Takes 2nd Place at The AISG Spring Splash Swimming Invitational Competition, Saturday 9 May

On Saturday, 9 May, 60 BSG swimmers (37 secondary, 23 primary) participated at the AISG Swimming Invitational competition. A huge thanks to our staff, Mrs. Golczyk for assisting me on the bus, Mr. Maunder and Mrs. Maunder for ensuring students got to the marshalling area and cheering on swimmers, and Mr. Slade for being poolside to record personal best (PB) times and cheering on swimmers. 

Many BSG parents were also present.

There were 300+ swimmers from 9 schools competing in 56 events until 5:30 pm.

Individual events were 50m across all four strokes, 100m freestyle, the 100m Individual Medley, and the team relay events of 200m Medley and 200m Freestyle.

The points system for individual events for 1st to 6th was 8, 6, 4 ,3 ,2, 1. It was double points for the relays.

Across the 56-event meet, BSG placed in the 48 individual events:

• 1st 7 times,

• 2nd 10 times,

• 3rd 13 times,

• 4th 8 times,

• 5th 7 times,

• 6th 7 times.

  
  

In the 8 relay events of 12-and-under and 13-and-over, BSG placed:

2nd 3 times, 3rd 3 times, 4th 2 times.

SongZe won the trophy for the Boys 11-12 Individual High Point and Stephanie for the Girls 15-and-over.

Once again, a great result for BSG in the pool.
