Please pay attention to the following.
1. The safety issue related to transportation after leaving school
Before leaving school, boarders should properly tidy up their personal belongings and not store valuables and snacks in the dormitory. Ensure the taps, electricity, and air-conditioning are turned off before leaving school. Do not take illegal vehicles or strangers' rides on your way home, and pay attention to your personal safety.
2. The safety issue related to food and staying at home
The Chinese New Year is approaching, and you should avoid overeating and maintain good eating habits. Take proper rest and arrange your schedule reasonably during the holidays. Be careful of food poisoning and pay attention to food hygiene and safety. Buy food from formal markets or supermarkets, and do not eat unsafe food. Do not mess with plugs or connect the power supply privately, especially do not use wet hands to plug in the power switches. Pay attention to the safety of using the gas stove, turn it off after use, and improve fire prevention skills.
3. The safety issue related to the Internet and financial safety
Arrange your rest reasonably and ensure adequate sleep. Do not be addicted to the Internet and do not imitate any violent behaviour in games. Take an appropriate time to review your homework and prepare for the next semester. Be cautious about what you say and do on the Internet. Do not make fake or inappropriate comments on the Internet and be careful about Internet fraud. If any fraud happens, inform parents in time and call 110 to report to the police.
4. The safety issue related to travel and pandemic prevention
In view of the serious situation of the pandemic in Guangdong, all students and teachers are requested not to travel to Shenzhen, Dongguan, Zhongshan, and Zhuhai for the time being to further protect their own lives and health. During the winter holiday, please urge students to balance work and rest, and physical exercise reasonably. Students are advised to make reasonable arrangements for their schedules, obtain correct information on the prevention and control of the pandemic, do not make, believe or spread any rumours, and strictly comply with the local requirements for the prevention and control of the pandemic. Stay local to celebrate the Spring Festival, reduce the unnecessary gatherings and avoid going to crowded places. If travel is necessary, you are asked to wash your hands frequently, wear masks, keep 1-meter distancing and keep your travel documents for reference. Do your personal monitoring when you return from a trip outside of Guangdong and a COVID-19 Nucleic Acid Test within 24 hours is recommended. Self-observation for 14 days is requested and you shall report and seek medical help promptly if any discomfort is found.
5. Prepare for return to school
If you have travelled to medium, high-risk regions, you shall take the initiative to report to your local community and your school upon your return to Guangzhou and implement health management measures as required; before students return to school, please keep abreast of changes in families’ health status and health codes for 14 days. If you have any discomfort such as fever, dry cough, stuffy nose, runny nose, sore throat, conjunctivitis, diarrhoea, etc., please seek medical advice and report to your school promptly, and do not return to school with illness.
We wish you all a happy, peaceful and safe Spring Festival!
