The 2024 International Education Development Conference held in Nanning, Guangxi, brought together nearly 300 international school principals, experienced professionals in international education, and parents from China and Southeast Asian countries. The conference aimed to promote regional cooperation and establish a solid foundation for the future of international education.
During the conference, attendees participated in stimulating keynote speeches and panel discussions covering a wide range of topics, including overseas education programs, research partnerships, joint curriculum development, and talent cultivation. The lively discussions allowed participants to share their knowledge and insights to improve educational practices in the region.
One of the key speakers at the conference was Mr. Greg Smith, Vice President of International Schools Services (ISS) for the Asia Pacific region. Mr. Smith emphasized the importance of enhancing competitiveness in international schools through academic excellence, a global perspective, advanced facilities and resources, strategic partnerships, skilled staff and faculty, and sustainable best practices.
With a history dating back to 1955, ISS has been a leader in promoting innovative practices in global education, including a successful 35-year presence in China. As a nonprofit organization, ISS collaborates with over 1,200 international schools and thousands of educators annually, making a significant impact on the international education sector.
