亲爱的盟诺家长、同学们:
Dear MSQ Parents and Students,
The year 2020 began in an unexpected and unfortunate way, yet the people of the whole country united in efforts to prevent and control the new coron-avirus. Life often throws us a chall-enge, a dilemma, a difficulty that we need to face. And it is precisely at such moments that our willpower can be most tested. Right now, we are gaining this valuable experience from Wuhan citizens and Chinese people.
When we see the videos shared on social media showing dedicated med-ical staff, and the volunteers from all over the country or even the world offering their love and help to Wuhan, we see the best expression of civil-ization and humanity.
Although the outbreak in Qingdao is not as severe as that in Wuhan, we still face many challenges. This unexpected virus outbreak happened at the be-ginning of Semester-2, it is very evi-dent by our response to the health crisis how MSQ has become a Comm-unity, a Family. I am very proud of our teachers, staff, administrators, stud-ents, and parents; we have come to-gether and risen to this challenging and very difficult time.
The Coronavirus epidemic is fluid. Yet, it is impressive how the people of China have come together to prevent the further spread of this disease. Th-ere seems to be some data indicating that the increase in cases is leveling off, and hopefully very soon the number of new cases will become less and less.
I am fully aware of the difficulties faced by all Chinese and foreign teachers at this moment, and I can imagine the pressure each family and student are going through. Not only do we have to deal with the epidemic, but also to complete online learning, and prepare for exams in March and May. We have made a good start, and we believe that as the epidemic recedes, teaching and learning will continue to go smoothly.
While schools continue to delay re-opening pending the containment and reduction of the coronavirus, Menaul School Qingdao has launched a robust and rich Online Learning Program since February 10. These first few days are going very well. Yes, we have some log-istics to polish and technology will present some challenges, but we are monitoring everything and collecting input and data. Adjustments are being made. The MSQ Online Learning Pro-gram will only improve and tighten up across the weeks ahead.
Despite the challenges and difficulties, I have been greatly encouraged by the messages of support, care and encour-agement from parents to teachers and school.
Looking back the past two weeks, we are fully aware of the importance of ever-yone’s aid and help, showing the essence of humanity. We think of the power of kindness at times like this. The MSQ students, teachers and parents have demonstrated great kindness. Together, we will make achieve more and more success in the future.
On behalf of our faculty and staff, we would like to thank all parents for your trust and support. Please continue to support your children and teachers th-rough this difficult period. The pressure from outside and the unsatisfactory teaching environment will not stop we Menaulers from working together and overcoming all the challenges ahead.
Keep fighting Wuhan!
Keep fighting Menaulers!
