Our Upper School House Music Challenge 2023 was held on March 31st, as the warmth of Spring finally crept through.
As well as giving us great performances , some of our musically gifted students won a total of 28 awards during the semi-final of International Voice and the China Boao Arts Festival, which were award to thtem on stage after the event
Following the release of the winners of House Music, we will also introduce you to the students who have achieved outstanding results in the two music competitions.

The Upper School House Music Challenge 2023 was themed as a Celebration of Musical Artists, with each House choosing a singer or a band and adding their own musical talents to their renditions. Students from all Houses performed classic songs by famous pop musicians. The winning House won the applause of the audience with its sophisticated musical performance skills, sincere emotion, and almost perfect stage presence.

Semi-Final of International Voice
At the end of last term, Harrow Haikou students won 1 Distinction Plus Award, 8 Gold Awards, 9 Silver Awards and 1 Bronze Award in the semi-final of the International Voice! International Voice has made the winners' music available on all major music platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, QQ Music, NetEase Cloud Music and Kugou Music to give their works wider distribution and recognition. 50% of the semi-finalists recorded their tracks and videos using music recording equipment provided by the school.

Cecilia received a prize of $200 USD provided by the competition committee. ONLY TWO winners out of over 1000 Semi-Final participants across the globe achieved this award!
Since 2018, the Experts Committee of Music of the China Association of Cultural Management has organised four consecutive China Boao Arts Festival and Excellent Youth Art Performance at the permanent venue of the Boao Forum for Asia.
This year, the competition was held at Harrow Haikou to support more young artists who love music, to develop their musical potential and expand their horizons in the field of music, thus growing into outstanding young artists who can influence the world of music! Harrow Haikou students performed brilliantly in this year's festival, with six students winning the first prize and four students winning the second prize!
In just a few months, talented Harrow students have been appearing on stages both at home and abroad, winning a wide range of high-quality music awards.
If you have watched the shows during the House Music Challenge at Harrow Haikou, you will understand why our students did so well in the competitions.
The House Music Challenge emphasises student leadership and showcases the spirit of the House in the forms of individual, band, and choral performances, with each student working towards the House Cup, which represents the collective honour of the House.
Led by the core values of Courage, Honour, Humility and Fellowship, this year, every student completed their own challenge and received the loudest and proudest applause.
