PYPX (PYP Learning Achievement Exhibition) is the core part of the IB-PYP stage, representing both the summary of the six-year PYP learning and the transition to the MYP. It gathers all the knowledge from the PYP phase, and the CBIS sixth graders truly applied their learning outcomes to research and practice.
On June 29th, CBIS PYP sixth-grade graduates presented a wonderful graduation exhibition to everyone.
PYPX represents an important milestone in primary school project-based learning and students' campus life, integrating the five elements of primary year program and sharing and communicating them between schools and communities. Students participate in the planning, organization, coordination, and implementation of the entire graduation ceremony and achievement exhibition, developing their ability to use and organize materials during activities, and promoting practice.
The theme of this year's graduation exhibition is "Sharing the Planet". Students started from '0' and through self-exploration, brainstorming, and connecting with the real world around them, they found the topic they are interested in. From equal opportunities to peace and conflict resolution, from community relations to human rights and responsibilities, their insight was not only limited in the mountains, rivers, and oceans within reach, but also on the vast universe of stars.
Students met with mentors to exchange ideas and suggestions, and worked together to advance the exploration progress. Under the careful guidance of their mentor, they pondered around their own theme and carried out the subsequent inquiry around the central idea, key concepts, related concepts, and three lines of inquiry. After 8 weeks of inquiry and reflection, the students launched the final graduation achievement exhibition.
At the graduation exhibition, they confidently and generously displayed their inquiry outcome to their teachers and classmates, and called on everyone to pay attention to their actions and to make changes together with them. Their thoughts and opinions far surpassed those of their peers in the same age group. The breadth and depth of their thinking also amazed the visiting parents and teachers.
In these two months of inquiry, they have expanded their cognition, broadened their horizons, stimulated creative inspiration, improved their abilities, and laid a solid foundation for entering MYP. In these six years of PYP learning journey, they have overcome difficulties, tirelessly pursued excellence, and also gained the most valuable spiritual wealth.
Youths have their own ambition, and never wait to set sail and forge ahead. Young people, a promising and vast future belongs to you!
