At LEH International School Foshan, we believe that education is a lifelong adventure, and with each passing year, we aim to create an environment that nurtures the boundless potential of our students. As we eagerly anticipate the arrival of the next school year, we are delighted to invite our Headteacher, Mrs Arden, to provide an exclusive sneak peek into the exciting highlights that await us in the next year and beyond.
We have dedicated significant efforts to ensure the smooth opening of Year 2 in the coming school year. Our new classroom facilities are getting ready to create an enriching and younger-child-friendly learning environment. We are also introducing dedicated, highly qualified Prep teachers to ensure an excellent educational experience for our students.
This academic year, we see the addition of a Pre-A Level coordinator, Ms Abi Forest. Ms Forest will teach the students English, but she will also live in the Boarding House and monitor the academic progress of the students and make sure that they are socially integrating. Ms Forest speaks four languages including Mandarin which will model to our students the desirability as well as the necessity to become bilingual. Ms Forest will be a key link between parents, teachers and students.
Mrs Kirk is joined by Ms Stevens, as Deputy Head of Sixth Form and an English teacher, she will be supporting students’ preparation for university. Both will also be encouraging students to use our online platform Unifrog and attend university fairs and careers fairs which will be planned throughout the academic year. Students from all year groups will be welcome to attend too, as it is never too early to seek advice.
There will be more teachers to join us in August, please follow us and stay tuned for more information.
Connection with LEH London
Demonstrating to all stakeholders of the school that the quality of learning and teaching is second to none is very important. This autumn, LEH London will carry out its first Annual Review; this process is the two schools collaborating to ensure that our curriculum, our ethos and our mission are delivering our promises.
On the 16th of November, we will celebrate our first Founder's Day. We will be joined by Mrs Hanbury and Mr Berkowitch, our Board of Governors will also be in attendance. More details will follow in our newsletter; however, I can tell you that LEH London will be performing via our big screen.
Collaboration with LEH London will take off next year with our Prep students going to visit our sister school. I will be visiting London during the summer holiday to discuss projects between the senior school. This is a very exciting time for both schools to develop an academic relationship and become pioneers for education collaboration.
Regarding the curriculum all students will be given a swimming lesson throughout the year, using the best of our facilities and encouraging our students to consider what impact sport can have on their wellbeing.
LAMDA will now become part of the English curriculum, this will focus our students on the need to be confident orators, developing the skills to speak in public or in an interview are very real attributes required by our students. Our older students will also be given an opportunity to collect UCAS points towards their university applications.
The new academic year will see the continued growth of LEH Foshan. Our facilities continue to offer a market-leading education for all year groups. The fabulous addition of the new playground and outdoor learning space demonstrates once again to our families that the school is committed to delivering a holistic, future-thinking pedagogy which children will enjoy and be inspired to love learning. The ECA programme continues to evolve as the school population increases. We are able to expand opportunities to experience even more sports and academic pursuits. Watch out for golf, tennis and basketball coaching sessions. For our younger students, there will be ballet, street dance and martial arts as well as the ever-popular sports teams.
Local Collaboration in Music
Becoming part of the local community is important for LEH Foshan, that is why will become a hub for local artists who will exhibit their work and offer the school opportunities to collaborate in Masterclasses.
We have already showcased this sense of partnership this term through the Music Department, we hope to see many more musicians performing and teaching in the school. Music will continue to thrive and encourage cultural exchanges that recognise the inclusive nature of our school community.
With the unveiling of these remarkable highlights, we are confident that the next academic year and beyond will be filled with growth, discovery, and endless possibilities for our students. We look forward to witnessing their remarkable achievements and celebrating their successes. Join us for an extraordinary educational experience!
