In the fast-paced urban life, we often find ourselves trapped in our own small worlds, where connections between people seem to be getting weaker.
To break this status quo, Tianlai, a student at LWS, initiated a unique project. This project aims to use the school's public spaces to create a new kind of interactive venue, fostering informal communication and sincere connections among people.

Tianlai carefully inquired about the younger students' schooling experiences, social interaction patterns, and their social circles. Passing by each public area, he would stop to take photos, contemplating the future possibilities in his mind.

Tianlai believes that designing a space for a campus accommodating thousands of people, while meeting their needs, is undoubtedly a huge challenge. This requires not only considering the functionality of the space but also the needs of different groups within the campus for public spaces, the actual condition of the campus, and the distribution of people. He kept asking himself: How can we maximally include all groups to make everyone feel comfortable in this space? How to design for convenience so that everyone can easily access this space? Additionally, sustainability issues need to be addressed, such as how to utilize clean energy? And how to adapt to the rapid changes in technology and needs?
Can a campus be only a place for reading and learning? The most precious years of our youth are almost entirely spent on campus. The terraces used for relaxation, the sunken plazas for resting, and the libraries where we immerse ourselves in study are all waiting to be endowed with new meanings.
