At ISD, we encourage students to extend their learning into the real world, translating classroom knowledge into practical life skills. This summer, the Rock Haus Camp invites students to unplug and head into the the forest. Within this authentic construction environment, they will embark on an immersive journey of creativity, collaboration, and resilience.

Building a treehouse is a healing thing. It comes from nature, returns to nature, never burdens the earth, and instead gives life one more place to belong. A treehouse has "warmth."

Do you remember the very first one, "Tree Grandfather"? It walked with us through wind, frost, rain, and snow, and under the gaze of time, it aged peacefully, returning to soil and branches, the most complete ending a life can have.

In Season 10, we held a farewell and rebirth for Tree Grandfather; we transformed it, letting new stories grow from its wooden grain. And now, in Season 13, this cycle continues: every rock house is unique, every wooden board carries its own fingerprints and laughter.

What will this year's rock house look like?

We've left unfinished walls, beams waiting to be fixed, an old plank waiting to be given a soul. If you have interesting ideas hidden in your mind, about structure, about decoration, about how to let a small house speak with nature. You are welcome to bring them here and make them real with us. This summer, come to Cliff Haus and be a treehouse builder for a while.

Let the wood remember your warmth, let the wind pass through the window you nailed with your own hands. Rock House Season 13 is waiting for your mark.

In the previous season, children used the “Magic Paint Brush” to draft the building on paper with 3D technology, and the front walls were completely created by them. This year, the difficulty level will be increased, it needs to further open up the mind, the imagination, and hidden potentials.  

Walking into the 3D world, measure the length, cuculate the angle, design with a picture in mind. Children will be build a world of dreams. All the drawing will be collected, merged into one facade, then become the front wall of the haus.

During the camp, children will learn how to design structures and use different tools. They will be able to put their thoughts into sketches, drafting with accurate measurements and hands on experience with raw materials, from adjusting a door frame, to drilling a plank. Pieces by pieces, this haus will be made through our children's own hands.

Install the boards precisely, and record the speed of construction every day. Kids will gradually understand the original spirit and the whole construction process. Also, they will learn how to concentrate on their work, cooperate with others and resolve various setbacks.

Self control,  self awareness, realationship and conflicts with others will be challenging for many, however this would be a perfect opportunity for them to grow and learn from their peers in nature.

Delay of gratification is the ability to put off the receipt of a reward in order to gain a better reward later. This enhance children's discipline. Savoring clay chicken, wining prizes...

During the summer camp, kids will be assigned tasks and win their favorite prizes after finishing their tasks, such as fruit, snacks, wooden DIY artworks, etc. Through tackling challenges, kids can improve self-discipline and the ability to pursue long-term goals despite difficulties in the future. Apart from building rock haus, kids will also experience the variety and vitality of nature by participating in different sport projects, such as parkour, rock climbing, cave exploration and water fight.

In this season, we will learn to build rock haus with mud, which is an ancient way of construction. With this ancient construction knowledge in mind, we will build our haus with a distinctive style. We will also cook clay chicken together. All of these activities in this season is bound to leave precious memory in our mind.

Cliff Haus, coaches will guide children to know more about geology, biology, chemistry, etc... Sees nature as a big classroom, we will show respect and gratitude.

To complete a Rock Haus in 5 days, what a accomplishment for the child. Happiness, satisfaction and perseverance.

At the end of the trip, children will lit torches together with their parents, and review these days of hardwork and sweat. The mixed feelings of persistence, cooperation, waiting, frustration, and hope... till the end, a beautiful finish and memorable journey.

造一座树屋，是一件治愈的事。

它取于自然，归于自然，不曾给大地留下负担，反而让生命多了一个去处。树屋是有“温度”的，记得最初那间“树公”吗？它陪我们走过风霜雨雪，最终在时间的注视下，安然老去，化为泥土与枝桠的一部分。那是生命最完整的句点。

第十季，我们为“树公”举行了告别与重生——改造它，让它的木质纹理里长出新的故事。如今又到第十三季，这份循环仍在继续：每一座岩屋都独一无二，每一块木板都刻着不一样的指纹与笑声。

今年的岩屋，会是什么模样？

我们留下了未完成的墙面、待固定的梁柱、一块等待被赋予灵魂的旧木板。如果你的脑袋里藏着有趣的创意——关于结构、关于装饰、关于如何让一座小屋与自然对话——欢迎你带来，和我们一起把它变成现实。

这个夏天，来涯际，当一回树屋建造师。让木头记住你的温度，让风穿过你亲手钉下的窗。岩小屋第十三季，等你落笔。

“神笔马良”们用他们那支神奇的笔，把建筑物用3D技术在平面纸张上画出并予以实现。其中前立面墙完全是孩子们的共同创作的。今年会再次增加难度，让孩子们开拓思维，发散想象，进一步提高动手能力，激发创意潜能。

在开营前我们将进行线上设计集思会，说明材料规格、尺寸比例和设计任务，孩子们将在开营前完成自己的树屋设计（或一面墙体骨架的设计）。到营地第一天晚上，进行墙体设计汇总、筛选、提炼、集成、模型打印。

在几天的活动中，孩子一起学习掌握各种工具的使用，建筑原理，测量计算、分工制作，矫正一个门框、钻空一块木板、拧上一颗螺丝，每个人都为梦想小屋贡献一份力量。

精确安板，记录板材、钉子，锯木头的速度每天有多少提升，工作效率是如何提高的，孩子会切身地感受匠心精神，工程流程；做一件事的专注、团队协作与挫折应对。

小伙伴们要经历情感的表达，情绪的控制，自我与他人的界限，能力的互补，对困难的克服；要学会合作，学习如何解决问题等等。这一切，未来孩子们都该具备的能力。

延迟满足是指一种甘愿为更有价值的长远结果而放弃即时满足的抉择取向， 以及在等待期中展示的自我控制能力。比如等窑鸡，拿奖励...

在营期，老师会设立有偿任务，孩子们通过完成任务，方能换取他们想要的东西，如：水果、零食、木质DIY作品等，培养孩子的自控能力，克服当前的困难情境而力求获得长远利益。看看孩子自己做的小道具吧。

岩屋搭建中，除了搭建工程，涯际还会添加运动类项目给到孩子们，分享大自然多元化的乐趣。跑酷、攀岩、探洞、打水仗等不同探索运动项目，让生活丰富多彩。

这次，我们将学习泥巴。用泥巴建造建筑是一种很古老的方式，我们将利用其中的建筑知识，搭建一个与众不同的东西或者一起做窑鸡，让它成为这一次的纪念。

让孩子做纯粹的孩子，在大自然里撒野，“工作”中专注，有张有弛；做有活力有灵性的“野孩子”。夜晚把萤火虫捧在手里，让心愿成真。

亲手从0到1完成了岩屋搭建，从他们的笑容能看出快乐、满足、骄傲。

在结营的那天，孩子们和父母一起点燃火把，回顾这几天的坚持、合作、等待、挫折、盼望…这一天不会是一个终点，而是新的生活的起点。
