What can be achieved by groups of people coming together during times of adversity is amazing. I have been inspired and astounded by what Lucton’s staff, students and parents have achieved over the last few weeks. Lucton is a family school, and this has been an especially challenging time for students, parents and staff who are new to our family, but by coming together and working hard for each other we have managed to overcome all obstacles and challenges.
In a matter of weeks, we have managed to create a fantastic online learning system so that students continue to enjoy high quality lessons and outstanding, personalised learning. Our teachers and support staff have worked tirelessly to ensure that students have access to excellent teaching, our students have worked determinedly to complete their work and our parents have given their support unstintingly to their children and the school. I can honestly say, I have never been more proud to be a Luctonian!
As you will see in the photos of online lessons, students are working very hard to keep up with all their work in all their lessons. While I am sure some parents have concerns about students’ summer examinations, you can rest assured that we will do everything in our power to make sure that all our students’ achieve their best. I have always tried to view difficult times as challenges to be overcome and opportunities to learn, and in the best Lucton spirit I am very proud to say that our students have risen to the challenges recently presented and they have seized this opportunity to improve their independent learning skills, which are vital for later lifelong learning. With courage, resilience and Luctonian spirit, I am confident that our Lucton family will overcome all challenges, flourish and be educated by the experience. I hope all our families and staff are safe and healthy at home and I look forward to seeing you all in school, and back in classrooms, as soon as we are able.
