在美达菲的生活怎么样？为什么会选择这里？有什么改变？本期MACDUFFIE学子专访，我们邀请了A-Level班的两位同学：董佳韵、李萨同学。

How is life in MacDuffie? Why did you choose here? What has changed? In this edition of MACDUFFIE student interview, we have invited two students from A-Level class: Dong Jiayun and Li Sa.

成长与蜕变

#为什么会选择来美达菲，觉得这是一所什么样的学校？#

董佳韵：我是从高一下学期来的美达菲，当时因为觉得美达菲的课程选择比较多，有A-Level、IB、 AP美高和OSSD，而且如果课程不适合自己还可以校内直接转课程。我觉得美达菲是一个非常优秀的学校，学校环境也特别好，学习氛围浓郁。我这两年多来遇到的老师们都很有耐心、同学们也很好相处，真的很幸运当时选择了美达菲！

I came to MacDuffie in the second semester of my first year of high school. At that time, I felt that MacDuffie had more courses to choose from, such as A-Level, IB, AP and OSSD. If the courses don’t fit, we can transfer directly from within the school. I think MacDuffie is an excellent school with perfect campus enviroment and learning atmosphere. The teachers I have met in the past two years are all very patient, and the students are also very easy to get along with. I am so lucky to have chosen MacDuffie at that time!

兰顿学子：我在诺思兰顿最大的感受是，我的学习和生活都得到了很好的安排，在学习上能得到老师很大的帮助，自己也可以有很合理、高效的学习安排；在生活上，ECA拓展课程、社团活动丰富了我们的业余生活，每天都过得很充实、有意义。

李萨：我是在高一加入美达菲的，记得当时进行筛选学校的时候，了解到美达菲是一所办学资质齐全、又有国际相关权威机构认证，是一所办学放心的国际高中。并且校园环境优美、学习氛围浓厚，因此我坚定选择了上海美达菲学校。

I joined MacDuffie when I became a senior high school student. I remember that when I was screening schools, I learned that MacDuffie is an international high school with full qualifications and certification from relevant international authorities. In addition, its elegant campus environment and strong learning atmosphere added up to the reason why I firmly chose Shanghai MacDuffie School.

#为什么会选择美达菲A-Level课程？#

董佳韵：因为A-Level课程的选课比较多，可以根据自己喜欢的学科来选择三到四门自己喜欢的课程，然后去申请自己喜欢的大学和专业，我觉得比较适合我。

Because there are many courses to select for A-Level. I can elect three or four courses according to my favorite subjects and then apply for my favorite university and major, which I think is more suitable for me.

MACDUFFIE

李萨：因为相比于其他课程来说，可以选择自己擅长和有兴趣的课程，另外，A-Level课程的学习节奏是最适合我的。

Because compared with other courses, I can choose the courses that I am good at and interested in. In addition, the learning pace of A-Level courses suits me best.

#来美达菲最大的变化是什么？#

董佳韵：让我变的更加独立了，有时间提升自己，不会过度依赖家人，来到学校让我的视野更开阔了，也在这里学习收获到很多知识。

It has made me more independent, giving me time to improve myself and not relying too much on my family. Coming to school has broadened my vision and allowed me to gain a lot of knowledge here.

李萨：我的性格变得开朗了，因为交到了很多朋友，并且变得愿意与别人沟通，在学校也会积极参加各种社团活动，丰富自己课外生活。

I become more out-going. Since I have made a lot of friends, I become more willing to communicate with others, and I also actively participate in various club activities at school which enriches my extracurricular life.

#A-Level夏季大考，学校给了你什么样的帮助？#

董佳韵：我的学科老师们都很辛苦，抽出自己的空闲时间帮我们进行课后的辅导，真的很感谢老师们的耐心指导，还有学校作为A-Level授权考点，让我们可以更方便地进行考试。

My teachers of different subjects have made great efforts and spared their free time to help us with after-school tutoring. I really appreciate the teachers' patient guidance and the fact that the school is an authorized test center for A-Level which means we can conduct the exam more conveniently.

李萨：这段时间学业压力对我会稍微有点大，会有点累，但是一切都为了能考出一个好成绩，所以其实回忆起来既辛苦却又很难忘。学校老师会抓得很紧，也会有更多的辅导机会给到我们。

During this period of time, the academic pressure was a bit high on me and I felt a little tired But (it’s worthwhile) for the purpose of achieving good marks. It was a hard but unforgetable experience in my memory. The school teachers were very strict and there will be more tutoring opportunities for us.

学校的日常

#学校的课程教学是和学习氛围是怎样的？#

董佳韵：我们学校是封闭式管理的，但在住校的日子里我并不会觉得无聊，反而体会到了自老师，同学和校长们无微不至的关心，给予我们家人般的温暖。并且每天我都是在一个非常轻松又高效的学习氛围中度过，学校缤纷多彩的课外活动更是促进了同学们间的情感交流。

Our school implements close-off management, but during the days of living on campus, I do not feel bored, but on the contrary I feel the meticulous care from teachers, classmates and principals which gives us the warmth like a family. Besides, I spend every day in a very relaxed and efficient learning atmosphere. The colorful extra-curricular activities of the school have promoted the emotional communication among students.

李萨：学校的课程安排很合理，不会让我有很卷的感觉，课外活动也挺丰富的，我觉得在这样的学习氛围中更能学出好成绩。

The curriculum arrangement of the school is very reasonable, which won’t make me feel too stressed by competition and there are a variety of extracurricular activities. I think I can learn better in such a learning atmosphere.

#学校的日常生活什么样，能跟大家描述一下吗？#

董佳韵：除了日常的上课以外，学校还有许多有趣的课外活动，例如登山，运动会，数学比赛，商赛等等，既丰富充实了我们的课余时间，也能让我们在活动中成长，学到更多课外的知识，探索新的世界。

Apart from daily classes, the school also provides many interesting extracurricular activities, such as mountaineering, sports meeting, math competition, business competition and etc., which not only enrich our spare time, but also allow us to grow up in the activities, learn more extracurricular knowledge and explore the new world.

李萨：有非常多的课外活动，同时这些活动不断地磨练了我，使我变得更爱思考。每天下午的最后一节课都是社团课时间，社团的选项也十分丰富，琴棋书画之外很多电子媒体、商赛、辩论等社团也非常吸引我。

There are a lot of extra-curricular activities and these activities have constantly honed me and made me more thoughtful. The last lesson of every afternoon is the club activity which provides a wide range of choice. Digital media, business competition and debating clubs also appeal to me besides piano, chess, calligraphy and painting.

未来可期

#你的目标大学是？对于未来规划是什么？美达菲给你提供了哪些帮助？#

董佳韵：我的目标大学是金匠(伦敦大学金史密斯学院)的传媒专业，对于未来的规划是想进入传媒的行业，学校给我提供了很好的升学指导，我在申请时有不懂的地方升学指导老师都会给我一一解答，并且一步步帮我申请到了传媒专业很好的大学。

My target university is Goldsmith (Goldsmiths College, University of London) majoring in media. As for my future planning, I want to enter the media industry. The school has provided me with good guidance for further study and the admission advisor will give me answers on everything I do not understand in the application and help me apply for the university with a good media major step by step.

李萨：我未来想就读的大学是昆士兰大学，美达菲的升学指导老师在申请方面帮了我很多，也非常愿意倾听我本人的意见。老师们会跟进我的实际情况来给我规划适合的升学路线、会耐心指导A Level方向的学生使用UCAS系统，给我们提供学习、职业生涯规划、标准化考试、选课及竞赛等方面的建议，真的太贴心啦！

The university I want to study in the future is the University of Queensland. The admission advisor of MacDuffie helped me a lot with my application and was very willing to listen to my own opinions. The teachers will follow up my actual situation to plan a suitable route for my study, patiently guide A-level students to use UCAS system, and provide us with advice on study, career planning, standardized tests, course selection and competition etc., which is really sweet!

#想对未来就读美达菲的学弟学妹说什么？#

董佳韵：希望学弟学妹们可以积极参加活动，勇敢表达自己，勇敢的争取每一个机会，坚持做自己！

I hope that junior fellow students can actively participate in activities, bravely express themselves, courageously fight for every opportunity, and insist on being themselves!

李萨：美达菲是一个很包容的学校，在这里的三年时光不仅学到了知识，获得了理想大学的offer，更认识到了很多好朋友！只要朝着心中的梦想一路前进，相信终会到达彼岸！

MacDuffie is a very inclusive school. During the three years here, I have not only learned knowledge, got the offer of the ideal university, but also met many good friends! As long as you head forward towards your dream in your heart, you will eventually reach the other shore!
