上周，两场汇聚世界顶尖高校资源的宣讲会在我校顺利落幕，我们有幸先后邀请到美国亚利桑那州立大学（ASU）和英国巴斯大学（University of Bath）的招生官亲临现场，为怀揣留学梦想的同学们带来最权威、最前沿的院校资讯与申请指南，现场干货满满、互动热烈。

As the gentle spring breeze brushed across the playground of Building 14 and the clarion call of youth resounded through the campus, the students of SMCS ushered in their long-awaited Spring Sports Meet.

两场宣讲会分别于上周一、上周四有序开展，招生官们结合自身多年招生经验，用通俗易懂的语言，从院校底蕴、专业优势、申请核心条件到校园生活，为同学们进行了全方位、深层次的解读，也让每一位到场同学都能精准对接目标院校的申请需求。

The two sessions took place last Monday and Thursday respectively. Drawing on their years of admissions experience, the officers offered comprehensive, in-depth explanations in clear and accessible language—covering everything from institutional heritage and program strengths to key application requirements and campus life. Every student in attendance gained valuable insights to better align their application goals with their target institutions.

作为美国知名的公立研究型大学，亚利桑那州立大学（ASU）招生官Miles首先带同学们走进这所拥有百年历史的学府——学校前身为1885年成立的坦佩师范学校，如今在菲尼克斯大都会区布局多个校区，涵盖西山校区、凤凰城市中心校区、坦佩校区和理工科校区，一所大学多校区协同发展，能满足不同专业学生的学习生活需求。

Mr. Miles, Admissions Officer at Arizona State University, first introduced students to this century-old institution. Originally founded in 1885 as the Tempe Normal School, ASU now operates multiple campuses acrossthe Phoenix metropolitan area, including the West Valley Campus, Downtown Phoenix Campus, Tempe Campus, and Polytechnic Campus. This multi-campus system meets the academic and living needs of students across various disciplines.

Notably, ASU ranks second among U.S. public universities for employment competitiveness, surpassing many higher-ranked institutions. Its main campus is in Tempe, within the Phoenix metro area, and with strong research capabilities, flexible training models, and outstanding career prospects, ASU has become a top choice for many international students.

Mr. Miles highlighted ASU's research and innovation strengths: the university receives over $670 million in external research funding, with continued growth and research expenditures reaching $1 billion. ASU ranks among the world's top ten for U.S. utility patents, with innovations widely applied in healthcare, communications, water management, and other critical fields. The university also ranks third among U.S. public universities for first-year student experience, providing comprehensive academic and life support.

He also introduced ASU's broad range of disciplines, including business, engineering, journalism, and the arts, as well as scholarship policies and dual-admission programs that provide a pathway for students who have not yet met language requirements.

Most importantly, the annual cost of attendance is approximately RMB 500,000—significantly lower than other top institutions in the U.S. and the UK—offering excellent value without compromising on quality education, facilities, or international opportunities.

随后，他正式带来了这所英伦顶尖院校的核心资讯：作为英国本土排名前十的公立研究型大学，巴斯大学成立于1966年，由工程与设计学院、人文与社会科学学院、理学院和管理学院四大核心学院组成，其管理学院更是英国领先的商学院之一，在市场营销、会计和金融领域排名稳居全英前列。

Immediately after, the Admissions Officer from the University of Bath engaged students in an in-depth discussion. This year's guest, Mr. Andrew, is not only an official admissions representative but also an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Rather than immediately diving into application details, he first shared his core research focus—the Olympic Games and their legacy. Using vivid case studies and detailed research data, he explained the profound cultural, economic, and social impacts of hosting the Olympics. His unique perspective and engaging delivery quickly drew students in.

He then presented key information about this top-tier UK institution: the University of Bath, founded in 1966, is a public research university ranked among the top ten in the UK. It comprises four core faculties—Engineering & Design, Humanities & Social Sciences, Science, and the School of Management—the latter being one of the UK's leading business schools, with marketing, accounting, and finance programs consistently ranked among the best in the nation.

Mr. Andrew also highlighted the university's strengths: a student-to-staff ratio of 15.4:1, a faculty that includes multiple Fellows of the Royal Academy of Engineering and the Royal Society, and a campus location just 1 hour and 20 minutes by train from London, offering great convenience for study and daily life.

At the end of each session, the most popular segment—one-on-one Q&A—took place. Students came prepared with questions about major selection, scholarship applications, and other core concerns, and spoke face-to-face with the admissions officers.

The officers answered each question patiently and thoroughly, offering tailored advice based on real cases. The atmosphere was lively yet orderly. Many students noted that the individual conversations not only resolved their uncertainties but also clarified their next steps in the application process—a truly rewarding experience.
