The Euclid Contest is one of the competitions organized by the Centre for Education in Mathematics and Computing (CEMC) of the University of Waterloo. It is mainly for senior high school students, which mainly includes: algebra (function, trigonometry, permutation, combination), plane combination, analytic geometry, etc. The Euclid Contest is a test which pays more attention to students' problem-solving skills rather than the answer. As Mathematics at the University of Waterloo has an excellent reputation and tradition as well as the rigour and professionalism of the Euclid Contest, the results of the contest have been widely recognized in Canadian universities and are known as similar to the Canadian "TOEFL".
