Time flies! It has been almost two weeks since the start of school.
It seems that the first time the children waved goodbye at the school gate with their little school bags has only just happened.
Apart from the joy of children growing up, perhaps there is also the worry that comes with it. Two and three year olds leaving home for the first time, going to a new environment and making new friends ...... There is always the worry of whether they are eating well, sleeping well, and what they are doing every day.
In order to relieve the parents of their worries, we "sneaked" into the K1 classes to see how the children are doing since the start of the school year.
As they enter the school, the children start their day with a joyful outdoor playtime. They leave behind the sadness of being away from parents and the sleepiness of waking up. They run and jump around on the playground, basketball court, sandpit, climbing frame and slides!
This is a time for the children to sit on the benches or carpet and interact with their teachers and classmates. During the week, the K1 children became familiar with their teachers and classmates and were able to listen intently to the teachers talking about picture books and playing games.
They are also learning to sing the children's songs , and < Hello Hello> together with their teachers. The children are becoming more familiar with these songs and are following the teacher's actions and singing some of the lyrics. Through the interactive learning activities with the catchy songs, the children are able to concentrate more on learning the English words and sentences with the teacher and even interact with them.
During the inquiry playtime, the teacher will provide activities related to the inquiry theme and the children can choose their favourite area or activity to explore and learn according to their interests.
The theme for the first two weeks of school was health and safety, in which we talked about human emotions and the teachers guided the children to identify their own emotions, such as happy, upset, sad and scared, and to put these emotions into perspective using the loose parts.
It's energy recharge time! It is wonderful to enjoy a delicious meal with your buddies. At the same time, we are learning to establish good eating habits such as eating with a spoon correctly and taking the cutlery to the designated area at the end of the meal.
Although they have only been at school for a fortnight, the children are already getting used to the process of meals. We are also learning to use the words 'Please' and 'Thank you' when asking for extra meals. At each mealtime the teachers introduce the food for the meal. Are the children able to remember what delicious food they have eaten today when they go home?
There are many challenges for children entering Pre school, but we want all mums and dads to be at ease.
Rest assured with BMH that we have an excellent team of teachers and a curriculum that will ensure the children's healthy development.
Rest assured that the children have more ability and potential than you can imagine and they will grow up rapidly in the Pre school.
And finally, the lovely ‘bonus scene’ for everyone ^^
