When your child boards, it is so much more than just having a place to sleep.
A boarding house is created to have a family atmosphere, where each child can thrive, morally and socially. They will learn independence, and how to interact successfully with other children and staff. They will have time to develop their academic talents, along with their extra-curricular skills. Each child will feel safe and secure, and will always have the attention of boarding parents when needed.
What do parents get out of it?
Long term, your child will grow into a positive and happy person, who will know how to succeed in life, and will not be afraid of taking on new challenges.
Short term, you will know that your child is being well looked after each week, allowing you time to work, rest and enjoy yourself. You will also not have to worry about delivering and collecting your child each day, and wasting your time in traffic. When your child returns home on Friday, you will know that all their school work has been completed, and they have had a successful and productive week, away from electronic devices, and social media.
Every parent knows how difficult it is to raise children and young adults, but by allowing us to take the burden of the school week away from you, your weekends and holidays will become a happier family time at home, without arguments, and with children who are happy to see you, and enjoy your company.
Boarding schools around the world offer various options, but at BMH we give a unique and special experience. With a staffing ratio of 1 staff to 4 boarders, you can be sure your child will get the attention they need, and will be very well looked after.
Our system is based on the British style of boarding, which has a very regimented day, but with a friendly and informal approach from the boarding staff. The day is structured to have a balance between academics and activities, with only 20-30 minutes each evening for informal use of devices to phone home, and then maybe play a game, but in general the children have so much fun together, they don’t always want to use them! Wake up time is at 6.55am, with everyone in bed, and most sleeping, by 9.30pm.
Parents are always welcome to make an appointment through our admissions department, to come and have a look at the facilities, and get feel of what boarding can offer you and your child. We are confident you and your child will be happy with the decision to board, and we are very happy to answer any of your questions.
