Seesaw is an important tool for home-school communication at BMH.The use of Seesaw is also an important part of the tripartite collaboration between parents, children and teachers that we need more of in the current online learning. Today Peter, our Head of Ed-Tech, will explain how to use this tool effectively.
Logging into Seesaw as a Parent
Use the Seesaw Family app to access Seesaw as a parent. It is available for download on all App Stores, or you can type into your web browser.
When you get to this page, click on I'm a Family Member.

If you cannot remember your password, click Forgot Password and a new password link will be sent to your email. Otherwise, use the login details you created when you first received an email from Seesaw.
Communication in the Seesaw Family app
In the Seesaw Family app, parents can see each of their children’s work on the Home feed.

On the Journal tab, parents can select a single child’s journal for viewing.

Parents can view completed work and leave encouraging messages for their child.

In the Inbox, parents will find general announcements for all & individua lmessages. Parents can respond directly to the teacher.

Students cannot complete activities or post to their journal from the Seesaw Family app and will need to access Seesaw (student version) on their own device.
3 Ways to find communication from the teacher
1. Journal Feed (personal)
Students AND parents can see comments from the teacher right ON the assignment from the Journal feed.

2. Inbox - Notifications (personal)
Students AND parents can see and hear audio comments from the teacher in the Inbox Notifications feed.

3. Inbox - Messages (for whole class)
Students AND parents can see general class announcements from the teacher in the Inbox Message feed.
If you have trouble contacting a teacher using Seesaw Family, please send them an email directly.
Students use a different app - it is called Seesaw Class, so that they can post in their Journals and respond to Activities. It is available for download on all App Stores, or you can into your web browser.
When you get to this page, click on I'm a Student.

Students DO NOT log in using an email address. They should either use a QR code or a Text Code, which is sometimes given by teachers during alesson.

All students may log in directly to Seesaw using the QR code.
If students don't have this QR code, they should ask their Banzhuren or subject teacher to share it so that they can print it out and use it whenever necessary.

Students will see their Seesaw homepage. From here, they can access Journal, Activities and Inbox.
