双语教育的最终目的是培养孩子的双语思维,发展孩子的跨文化理解思维和能力。培养孩子的双语能力离不开强大的阅读支持体系,这将是我们双语学习的重要一环。
分级阅读项目
ACCELERATED READING PROGRAMME
在深圳诺德双语学校,我们借助大数据评估系统,通过分级阅读项目Accelerated Reading Program,稳步提升孩子的阅读效率及学业成绩。分级阅读是培养孩子自主阅读的最佳路径,无论什么基础的孩子都可以在体系中找到相应的位置,蓝思值等可视化指标也为学习目标划定了清晰的路径。
除此以外,在学习资源中心,我们的图书馆老师会利用AR值,给孩子们自制阶段性分级阅读书单,把AR等级范围用颜色划分,再把对应颜色的便签贴在书脊上,方便孩子们找到最适合自己水平的书。

小学主要阅读平台
PRIMARY SCHOOL READING PLATFROM
MyOn是开放给全校小学生的线上阅读平台,有着非常丰富的英语阅读资源。走读生放学回到家后,可以利用这平台进行晚间阅读与学习。住宿生在老师的监督下,每周至少安排一个晚读时间可利用此平台进行学习。
中学主要阅读平台
MIDDLE SCHOOL READING PLATFROM
作为学校中学部的主要线上英文阅读系统,ReadTheory是一个自适应的阅读理解练习网站。平台会在评估学生能力后提出合适学生英文水平的阅读文章和问题,同时也会直接给老师及时的反馈,帮助我们设计更接近孩子当前能力的课程。在深圳诺德双语学校,我们鼓励学生放学后至少完成 1 项 10-15 分钟左右的阅读任务。并在周末也能完成相应的平台任务。
除了上述两个主要平台以外,我们还提供AR, nwea等大数据阅读平台,通过阅读测试的方式,帮助老师和家长及时跟踪孩子的学习进展,并在必要时给学生提供学习支持。
晨读与晚间阅读
MORNING AND NIGHT READING
在深圳诺德双语学校,每天的阅读从晨读开始。从周二到周五,全校学生的晨读时间至少保证有 20 分钟。其中两天安排中文阅读,两天安排英文阅读。每天阅读的形式多种多样,除了有默读、朗读、背诵以外,学校还给低年级的学生安排了“共读”,由外教老师带领孩子们一起大声朗读英文读物,有助于语感的培养与注意力集中。
此外,我们还为寄宿生安排了每天睡前半小时的课外阅读时间,让孩子们在纸质书的陪伴下,静下心来徜徉在书籍的海洋里。早晚阅读保障了孩子们一天至少有50分钟阅读时间,长期积累下来,这将会大大影响孩子们的学习能力。

每周阅读之星
WEEKLY READING STARS
通过小学和初中的阅读平台myON和ReadTheory 平台数据,结合学生日常班级的阅读情况,我们每周会评选阅读之星。阅读之星考核的,不仅是孩子们完成阅读的书目数量,还有阅读完书籍之后的答题反馈的准确度,既有量的保证,又有质的飞跃。
这学期,我们还给每个小学生分发了一本记事本,用来专门记录学生阅读行为。学生以周为单位,在上面记录他们的阅读书目、时长和阅后感想。

分级阅读项目
ACCELERATED READING PROGRAMME
At NAS Shenzhen, we use the big data evaluation system to steadily improve children's reading efficiency and academic performance through the Accelerated Reading Program. Accelerated reading is the best path for cultivating children to read independently. Children of any basic level can find their corresponding positions in the system. Visual indicators such as Lexicon value also delineate a clear path for learning goals.
In addition, in our Learning Resource Center, our library teachers will use the AR value to make a staged graded reading list for children. We will divide the AR grade range by different colors, and then stick the corresponding color sticky notes on the spine of the book, which is convenient for students to find the best books for their level.

After school, our day students can use this platform to read and study in the evening. Under the supervision of teachers, our boarding students can use this platform to study at least one evening reading time per week.

MIDDLE SCHOOL READING PLATFROM
As our middle school's main online English reading system, ReadTheory is an adaptive reading comprehension practice website. The platform will put forward reading articles and questions suitable for students' English level after evaluating students' abilities and will also directly give timely feedback to teachers to help us design courses that are closer to children's current abilities. At NAS Shenzhen, we encourage students to complete at least one reading task of about 10-15 minutes after school. And can also complete the corresponding platform tasks on weekends.
In addition to the above two main platforms, we also provide big data reading platforms such as AR, nwea, etc., to help teachers and parents track children's learning progress in time and provide students with learning support when necessary.
晨读与晚间阅读
MORNING AND NIGHT READING
At NAS Shenzhen, our daily reading starts with morning reading. From Tuesday to Friday, all students in the school are guaranteed at least 20 minutes of morning reading time. Among them, two days are arranged for reading in Chinese, and two days are arranged for reading in English. There are various forms of reading every day. In addition to silent reading, reading aloud, and reciting, we also arrange "guide reading" for students in lower grades. Our foreign teachers will lead the children to read English aloud together, which is helpful for the cultivation of language sense.
In addition, we also arranged half an hour of extracurricular reading time for boarding students every day before going to bed, so that the children can calm down and wander in the sea of books accompanied by paper books. This ensures our children have at least 50 minutes of reading time every day, which will greatly affect children's learning ability if accumulated over a long period.

每周阅读之星
WEEKLY READING STARS
Through the data of myON and ReadTheory platforms, combined with the reading situation of students in daily classes, we will select our Weekly Reading Stars. Reading Star assesses the number of books the children have completed reading and the accuracy of the answer feedback after reading the books, which is both quantitative and qualitative.
This semester, we also distributed a notebook to each primary school student to record their reading behavior. Students record their readings, duration, and thoughts on a weekly basis.
