After the Chinese New Year and the Lantern Festival, we are reunited with all our students and teachers today! As we bid farewell to the old year, we are ready to start again.
At the beginning of the school term, BMH has prepared a special ceremony to wish every child the best of luck in their new journey!
In Chinese tradition, we all want to start the New Year with good fortune.
Touching the red apples means that we will always be safe and sound; touching the green onions means that we will be smart and clever in the new year; banging on the drums means that we will be able to make a splash in the new year ...... With the auspicious symbolism, we are sure that the pre school children will have a happy new year in school.
The opening ceremony of the BMH Prep & Senior Schools was an exciting and joyful one, organised by the Headmaster, Dr. Wall, and our First Secretary, Ms Xiong Bo.
*Speeches by Dr Wall and student representatives
We were fortunate to have soldiers from a branch of the PLA raise the national flag for us solemnly on the first day of school. The neat and spirited strides of the soldiers were sure to lift the spirits of every child.
We also welcomed the Kirin, a precious animal, into the campus to interact with the students and teachers on site and bring laughter to the campus.
Students also brought their own lanterns to the lantern fair with great joy. As students contemplated the riddles under the lanterns and communicated with their friends, we had a happy reunion.
As a gift , we made a 'lucky bag' and a 'red envelope' for each student in school, using the children's excellent drawings as the pattern.
It's springtime and a new journey has begun.
All the flowers and trees on campus have sprouted and we are moving forward with renewed vigour! Together with the children of BMH, we are embracing spring and the new opportunities and challenges of the new term!
