Occasionally read, play with my cat, take walks on a nice chilly day, listen to music and knit
On general the really small community, we know everyone
What career are you hoping to have?
Practicing law or activism related careers.
What was the application process/experience like?
Still stressful, but I received tons of help from the UCC.
Why did you choose this university?
It’s in Montreal so it snows :) and I haven’t seen a lot of snow in my life. Also it is a top Canadian university that my great aunt studied in. And it offers a really really nice post-grad law program.
What are you excited about?
Finishing my IB exams, changing a new environment, seeing snow, being able to study more of what I am interested in, building new habits and mentality towards learning and living, learning to be an adult
What's on your 'bucket list' before going to university?
Spend my time with my cat, dye my hair, travel a lot more, watch musicals and concerts
How did ISNS prepare you for university?
The entire DP program was difficult and much similar to university courses. Furthermore, the small community and allowed me to learn to reach out for help, which would be very helpful in university.
What will you miss about ISNS?
The small community, the really nice teachers, being here for 12 years, and a lot a lot of memories I have had with my friends during fun events like Lock-In :P.
What's your advice to future ISNS grads?
1. Finish everything asap.
2. Not being “perfect” doesn’t mean you are not a cool, thoughtful, reflective, interesting person. Stop letting others define who you are and who you want to be in the future. Everything will fall into the right places, trust the process and yourself in changing the results.
3. Reach out for help.
4. Take advantage of all the resources, physical ones like classrooms and library as study rooms, or in a more abstract sense like asking teachers for clarification.
5. Notes and content cramming do not work, finish them in advance.
Enjoy the process, focus less on the results. That’s how I got myself a break from constant procrastination and perfectionism.
