We are more than happy to learn that BMH's Richard Feng of Prep 5 and Oscar Chen of P6 have secured Priority Place Offers to study at Bromsgrove School from Year 9 onwards after they have completed Senior 7 at BMH. This is a great honour which has been extended to the boys in recognition of their excellent work in and out of the classroom both at BMH and during their term as ambassadors at Bromsgrove School.
These two students are the first BMH students to be offered priority places and we anticipate others will follow very soon given the keen interest amongst many of our excellent Prep 4, 5, 6 and Senior 7 students.
Today, we would like to provide you with more information on "The Value of Priority Placement”.
Pastoral care is at the heart of Bromsgrove’s inclusive, caring and thriving culture. From Houseparents, residential staff, boarding tutors, housemothers to tutors, teachers, counsellors, health centre, senior teachers to Headmaster, every adult is deeply invested in the pastoral well-being of students and passionate in their vocation. When you visit the campus, you will feel immediately welcomed by the inclusive ethos of Bromsgrove UK. You will feel the warmth, happiness, friendliness, well-mannered etiquette, humility and confidence of every student as well as the ethos of excellence.
Furthermore, many UK boarding schools have “exeat weekends” (about every third week, all students, including international students, need to be off campus, in order to provide all faculty a short break). However, at Bromsgrove, there is NO “exeat weekends” as they understand the challenges, risk and inconvenience this would pose, especially to international boarders. Furthermore, over half term breaks (about 9 days long), Bromsgrove offers an optional “Guardian Angels” programme in which boarders can stay on campus and be looked after over half-term.

At Bromsgrove, students need to find off-campus arrangements only for Christmas holidays and Summer Holidays. Hence, Bromsgrove provides a far more inclusive boarding provision than most other UK boarding schools. This commitment to wrap around boarding provision was exemplified during Covid, when Bromsgrove UK stepped up and immediately offered international boarders the option to stay on campus and be looked after, even over Christmas and Summer Holidays, which was highly appreciated by international parents, as they did not have to worry about securing a flight home for their child or time wasted in quarantine.
Global mindset and cultural assimilation
At Bromsgrove School UK, not only are students from the UK, but there are students from over 55 countries. For Chinese students, the opportunity to study overseas in a culturally diverse, yet warm, inclusive and family-orientated school like Bromsgrove sets them up with a truly global mindset and a superior appreciation of other cultures: growing up with an inclusive yet culturally diverse peer group really helps Chinese students to understand, appreciate and integrate into the local culture, whilst developing a global mindset. Friendships formed between Bromsgrovians tend to span the globe and last a lifetime.
In contrast, we have noticed that oftentimes, Chinese students who go overseas only at university level, will tend to befriend mainly other Chinese students and not fully develop the cultural flexibility and adaptability important for their future careers.
Spread across 100 acres (over 600 mu), Bromsgrove School UK’s facilities are unparalleled and astounding. With extensive professional facilities for indoor and outdoor sports; with 25m indoor swimming pool; with state-of-the-art music, arts, drama, dance, design and technology studios and performance halls; with award winning catering and dining facilities; with 13 high quality boarding houses; with an historic chapel and buildings dating back to 1600s-1800s, community networks and much more…. the opportunities for students’ development and enrichment are limitless.the opportunities for students’ development and enrichment are limitless.
