During the National Day holiday, there is an atmosphere of peace and festivity everywhere, as people enjoy quality time with their families. However, for Mr. Lyu Jianjun, the founder of MIS, this National Day holiday was busy, fulfilling, and joyful.
2023 marks the beginning of the second five-year development plan for Shenzhen MIS, as well as an important year for MIS to expand its global educational resources. In just two weeks, Mr. Lyu traveled over 25,000 kilometers, spanning Asia, Europe, and America. His visits and research at renowned institutions such as Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the University of Oxford bear witness to his determination to integrate MIS's international educational resources.

In MIS's Boston center, situated near Harvard and MIT, the seeds of MIS's holistic education are sprouting. The center will offer classes for middle and high school students, accommodating nearly 300 students. Children from MIS Shenzhen can enter the MIS Boston Learning Center through exchange programs without the need for an entrance examination.

At the University of Oxford, MIS's Oxford Center, which collaborates deeply with New College, officially sets sail. The Lighthouse International Education Group's "mentorship" program for teacher professional development at Oxford University is also set to begin this semester, continually empowering the professional development of international teachers.
After concluding a working meeting with the principal and honorary principal of MIS's Shenzhen campus in Edinburgh, Mr. Lyu's overseas journey's final stop was in London. The most important aspect of Mr. Lyu's visit to London was to see the MIS students studying there and convey greetings and blessings from MIS teachers and students.
The day Mr. Lyu met with the students happened to be Anna's birthday. Mr. Lyu opened a bottle of French wine from 1967, given by a friend, and shared it with everyone, making the MIS London night brim with a celebratory atmosphere.
During the dinner, students reminisced about their study life at MIS and felt genuinely happy. For them, pursuing higher education at world-class universities is not only a personal dream but also a dream for their entire families.
Looking back on the five years since its establishment, as Shenzhen's first pure British-style boarding international school, MIS has consistently maintained top-notch campus culture, faculty, teaching, and human care. The staff has always regarded "lighting the lamp of life with love" as a sacred mission, embodying the spirit of MIS, which emphasizes putting hearts into education and nurturing with love.
In these five years, Shenzhen MIS has seen four consecutive graduating classes with 100% acceptance into the world's top 100 universities and 80% of students admitted to the top 50 universities. Among them, MIS Songshan Lake Academy (MAS) has had all ten of its graduates from the past two years admitted to Imperial College London, ranked eighth globally, and University College London (UCL), ranked in the top 20.
During these five years, Mr. Lyu has witnessed numerous children from impoverished mountain areas in China achieving their dreams of attending world-class universities through the Lighthouse Education Scholarship Program.
In a cheerful atmosphere, Mr. Lyu proposed that the students in London initiate the establishment of the "MIS British Home" and the "MIS British Alumni Association." He encouraged students to help each other in the UK and ensure that MIS's culture of mentoring and support continues in London. The Lighthouse International Education Group will continue to provide financial support and opportunities for internships when students graduate, to better serve the students, the alma mater, the country, and the world.
The dinner concluded with the MIS school song, "Ready Ay Ready," and the students expressed sincere greetings and deep gratitude to Mr. Lyu.
Before returning to China, Mr. Lyu received greeting messages from students who couldn't attend the dinner for various reasons. In their messages, they extended their best wishes for MIS to thrive and for its influence to spread far and wide.
"Because of MIS's sky, Anna, this star of happiness, shines so brightly!" When Mr. Lyu shared this London gathering with Anna's mother, she spoke these words.
