In the latest 'Resilience' Values Star selection at MIS, Izabela, a Y12 senior student, clinched the title of Monthly Star by demonstrating exceptional resilience in academics and life.
'The relentless pursuit of excellence' is the expectation for every child at MIS, and it truly reflects Izabela's inner truth. In her approach to learning, Izabela is willing to plan and exert effort for her goals, maintaining optimism even when faced with setbacks.
In a potato dehydration experiment, a poorly sealed flask resulted in insufficient gas data collection, causing a deviation in the experiment. Although Izabela's team tried various methods to repair the flask and made every effort to remedy the situation, the experiment, which consumed a significant amount of the team's energy, ultimately ended in failure. The painful setback didn't discourage Izabela; instead, it fueled her greater determination. Over the next week, Izabela's team learned from their mistakes, re-conducted the experiment, and optimized the procedure, ultimately achieving a successful outcome.

She states, 'I believe resilience is about moving forward with vigor regardless of the circumstances, maintaining a vibrant energy.
