ISNS Weekly News(20231201)|ISNS 本周精彩回顾
As part of our Short Stories unit, our Grade 7 English Language and Literature students presented their original short stories this week.
Throughout the unit, students have been engaging in reading and analysis of various short stories, exploring how authors use writer's craft to develop round and dynamic characters. Our Grade 7 students have applied their learning to create their own unique characters and stories. To celebrate their achievements, students shared their stories with the class, using expressive reading strategies to engage the audience.

G8 Science-Cells Equal Living Lab
This week, our 8th graders conducted an investigation to determine whether specimens have cells, whether they are living or nonliving, and what life functions the cells may perform.
Through this laboratory activity, students had the opportunity to practice using microscopes and enhance their skills in constructing scientific explanations using the Claim-Evidence-Reasoning (CER) framework. To wrap up the week, we also introduced the functions and organelles of cells.

The grade 3 writing celebration was a joyous and creative event. The students showcased their remarkable works, from imaginative fiction stories filled with colorful characters to thoughtful poems. It was amazing to see all the students' growth during this unit.
Did you know K3 has one day a month that means coming to school dressed in pajamas? It’s our monthly Pajama Party Day!
The objectives of our Pajama Parties are to:
-celebrate the passing of another month at school.
-acknowledge the growth we’ve made as a class and individuals.
-recognize the ways in which students embodied the learner profile attributes.
-reflect on the highlights of the month.
K3 recognizes that going to school is such a huge task for ISNS’s littlest learners. It’s challenging to be away from loved ones. Getting used to a new setting and new people can be scary. So our Pajama Parties are wonderful reminders of how much we’ve grown in one month’s time.
If you see an adorable young learner that looked like he or she just got out of bed, smile and say “Great job!” If it’s near the end of the month, chances are it’s our Pajama Party Day!
