The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) Visual Arts Mock Exhibition is an exciting and enriching event that showcases the creative talents of students studying Visual Arts within the IBDP curriculum.
Shenzhen Shekou International School (SIS) held a Visual Arts Mock Exhibition involving students from QSI International School of Shenzhen (QSI), International School of Nanshan Shenzhen (ISNS) and SIS at our Net Valley Campus at the end of November.
Students showed and presented their artwork to the audience and received valuable feedback from a panel of Visual Art teachers. This feedback will help them as they put the finishing touches on their final exhibitions for the Visual Arts Diploma Programme.
ISNS teachers commented that this was a valuable event and a great opportunity for students/teachers to collaborate and learn from each other. Bringing together students from different schools allows broader insights and perspectives they may not have encountered otherwise. Overall, this collaboration provides students with a platform to expand their interests and explore different project approaches. It is a commendable initiative that promotes student growth, creativity, and mutual learning.
G12 Anneke:
Anneke chose an abstract theme and overarching concept of fluidity, harmony, and balance. She explores this concept through various mediums and incorporates sub-concepts, such as the Yin Yang from Chinese philosophy.
She has gained a lot from this presentation and the course, including time management and planning. Anneke appreciates the lessons because they offer opportunities to explore different artists and techniques.
By sharing her positive attitude and outlook, she hopes to bring positivity into the lives of viewers and audience.
G11 Gala:
As an art student, Gala’s artistic inspiration comes from within herself.
She likes Visual Arts because through this class, she can convey her message, make her voice heard, express herself.
She feels art is the only way she can express herself, others can also achieve it through poetry, writing, photography, and other forms.
Gala creates art by analyzing self-awareness and control. She hopes the audience experiences abstract emotions through her work, triggering introspection and self-understanding. She doesn't want audience to feel specific emotions, she wants them to look inward.
G12 Louie:
Louie said he is grateful for having the opportunity to receive diverse perspectives and ideas from students and teachers across different schools. This valuable experience has allowed him to refine and enhance his artwork further.
The collaborative IBDP Visual Arts Mock Exhibition with other schools has offered us support and encouragement for our artistic development, cultural exchange, feedback and critique, collaboration, and recognition.
