This month, Shenzhen Victoria Park Academy hosted an exciting Go event. We were particularly honored to welcome Ms. Hua Xueming, a Chinese professional Go player holding the rank of seventh dan, leader of the Chinese National Go Team, and Vice Chairperson of the Chinese Go Association. She graced our school with her presence, engaging in friendly exchanges and sharing her experiences with our students.

In this Go event, students also had the privilege of experiencing games of Go against artificial intelligence (AI), tasting the harmonious integration of technology and our traditional wisdom. The children's curiosity and exploration of Go deeply impressed Chairperson Hua.
Several students and parents from our sister school, VSA, specially traveled from Hong Kong to join us.

Chairperson Hua emphasized the significant role that Go plays in fostering a mindset of having a "whole vision" in children. By learning Go, children can cultivate a holistic mindset, enhance their strategic vision, and gain greater insight when facing problems and making decisions.
Go is like life, and learning to play Go is also learning a variety of life wisdom. In the world of Go, each move carries different contemplation and decision-making, mirroring the challenges we encounter in our daily lives.
The competitive nature of Go not only stimulates children's intellectual development but also hones their mindset. Through repeated competitions, children come to understand that gains and losses, offense and defense, defeats and victories are all interrelated. We aim to cultivate in children the ability to face any situation with equanimity, to be humble in victory and resilient in defeat.
We are very grateful for Chairperson Hua's presence, looking forward to more exchanges and collaboration in the future.
