After a three-year absence, the Board meeting for BSUK and BMH was held on campus again this week. The cozy autumn breeze welcomed our "old friends" - Chairman of Governors, Mr Michael Luckman, Headmaster of Bromgrove UK, Mr Michael Punt and Assistant Head of Bromgrove UK, Ms Rachel Scannell.
As long-standing partners, BSUK and BMH have maintained continuous communication. During this visit, the Board members discussed and shared ideas on topics such as student exchange, school management and curriculum development.
On the 25th of October, Board members visited the Prep and Senior and Pre school classes to observe the diverse curriculum at BMH and interact with the lovely children.
The BMH School Choir welcomed the visitors with a melodious rendition of "You and Me" while Tracy from P5B delivered warm greetings with a beautifully played piano piece. In the English, Maths and Chinese classrooms, every child greeted and answered the board members' questions politely. In Ms Hannah's class our friendly students endeavoured to teach Board members how to speak Chinese.
They also joined in with the children's Phonics, inquiry and sports programmes in the pre school. The children were very interested in these friends from the UK and enjoyed playing with them.
In the art classroom and exhibition area, they savoured the art pieces and expressed their high appreciation of the students' art works. At breaktime, the student ambassadors presented the art works they had made as gifts to the BSUK delegation during a stimulating meeting with the Board members.
Moreover, the student ambassadors shared their experiences of the exchange and the summer school at BSUK and their expectations for the future. Headmaster Michael Punt said that he was very impressed with the two student ambassadors who went to BSUK last school year and that the summer school trip had given him an insight into the potential and excellent character of BMH students.
In addition to caring for the children, they also expressed their warm greetings and gratitude to each and every member of the BMH community. Embraced by the gentle autumn breeze and moonlight, the entire BMH staff, PTA representatives and Board members gathered for a joyful autumn celebration. We are confident that our bonds will remain secure and strong with love, trust, understanding and communication within the Bromsgrove family.
Students and parents who attended the Summer School may remember that Bromsgrove's School achieved an outstanding school inspection grading (the highest possible). The following from the BSUK Inspection report, "Students all display self-confidence, but without a hint of arrogance", "Bromsgrove is old in its origins, but new in its growth " , were quoted by the Headmaster, Michael Punt, at last school year's graduation ceremony of BSUK. We believe that under the guidance of the excellent BSUK, BMH will continue to move forward towards greater excellence and strive to become an outstanding school rooted in China.
