Poetry is a type of literature that is made up of words that are put together to form sounds, images, and ideas to express a person’s thoughts, feelings, and emotions. We explored a variety of poems and became junior poets by writing poems of our own where we presented them during our Poetry Cafe event.
诗歌是由文字组成的,随后通过赋予其声音、图像,以表达作者的思想、感觉和情感的文学形式。在爱莎科学城学校的诗歌创作班(辅助课程)中,孩子们跟随老师一起探索了各种诗歌,并化身一个个小诗人赋词吟诗,最后在诗歌咖啡馆活动中展示了作品。

During our introduction to poetry, we talked about poetry and used a KWL chart, looked through a variety of poetry books, and sequenced a collection of nursery rhymes. We started ‘A Poem in My Pocket’ soon after where we received a new poem each week to add to our key ring. This allowed us to keep poems in our pocket so we could read one at any time.
在介绍、学习诗歌的过程中,我们通过讨论的方式进一步认识诗歌,并使用了KWL图表,翻阅了各种诗歌书籍,为童谣集排序。不久后,我们开始了 "口袋诗 "活动——每周收到一首新诗,添加到我们的钥匙圈中,这使我们能够把诗放在口袋里,随时方面阅读。




The first poem we explored was a ‘Five Senses’ poem where we also enjoyed hot chocolate to help bring our five senses to life. We wrote our version of our poem and chose the picture to go with it. The next poem was a ‘Bio’ poem which we wrote one about ourselves. This poem started with our first name and ended with our last name. The third poem was a ‘Blackout’ poem which involved blacking out unwanted words from the text to create a poem using words that you choose from the text. The last poem was a ‘Shape’ poem that allowed us to write a poem in the shape of the topic.

We began planning for our Poetry Cafe by making a guest list of family and staff members who have made an impact on our lives. Then, we created the invitations and delivered them to our families and staff members. Although, in the end, the parents could not physically be present, they were able to attend virtually. The ISA staff showed great support to us by attending our Poetry Cafe event so that we could still have an audience. Most importantly, the partnership with parents, staff, and students is essential for setting our students up for success!
在完成所有诗歌的学习和创作后,我们在学校咖啡厅着手准备“诗歌汇演”活动,共同拟出邀请名单(包括家长和学校员工)。随后,我们制作了邀请函,并将其送到我们的家人和工作人员手中。虽然最后爸爸妈妈因为疫情防控原因不能亲自到场,但他们还是通过在线直播看到了我们精彩的一面,学校的工作人员也对我们表现出了极大的支持与认可。我们相信,家长、教师和学生之间的合作关系是学生奠定成功基础的关键。
